Ik lees hier reeds lang mee maar vandaag mij toch even geregistreerd omdat ik met een paar vraagjes zit.

Ik ben reeds een tijdje op zoek naar een 500 en vandaag eens naar een 500SEL uit 1986 gaan kijken. Op zich is de auto "goed genoeg", met de gebruikelijke roest en carrosserieschade. Daar stoor ik mij niet aan want zou hem toch volledig herspuiten.

Echter 2 mechanische problemen:
- Servostuur draait vlot af naar rechts maar niet naar links. Links afdraaien gaat echt zeer moeizaam, alsof hij helemaal geen servo heeft. Is dit een bekend probleem? Kan dit het stuurhuis zelf zijn? Pomp volgens mij niet want dan zouden beide kanten slecht moeten gaan.

- Achtervering veert niet en is hard. Volgens mij zijn dit de bollen die moeten vervangen worden. Mijn vraag: kan je die hele niveauregeling vervangen door een gewone veer/demper combinatie? Bedoeling is dat de auto verlaagd wordt dus dan kan ik beter een volledige kit kopen ipv de bollen te vervangen en dan met de hoogteregeling te prutsen.

Graag jullie mening hierover. Ik heb heel wat ervaring met oude auto's maar een oude Benz is toch helemaal iets anders :)
