Een nieuwe kost 50 euro, een hoesje 3 euro, de hoeveelheid sleutelwerk is hetzelfde. Als je de houder los hebt is de rest trouwens niet ingewikkeld, de kogel sla je met een paar klappen uit de houder.
ALs de remreactiestang weg is, verschuift het 'wiel' wat naar achteren. Om de stang en houder terug te plaatsen kan je het wiel naar voren duwen met de Mercedes krik.

Kan mij vergissen maar ook bij mij keek de keurmeester er zo overheen met de mededeling dat ik het ooit nog eens moet vervangen.
Intussen al hele kogel vervangen want die was wel goed rot.

Als dat plaatje losraakt, door roest of omdat de lassen afbreken, draai je dus in het luchtledige. In mijn geval kon ik het plaatje er heel uitwringen:

Gelukkig vond ik op een Duitse W126 site een mooie oplossing, een aangepaste 22 mm sleutel. Slijp beide kanten af tot-ie 30 mm breed is. Dan kan je hem op de blinde moer drukken en verder sleutelen:
