Voor de liefhebbers, er is nog zo'n mooi verhaal/boek die over de avonturen van het terug zoeken naar de roots gaat.
'Mijn Mercedes is (niet) te koop' erg leuk om te lezen!

Ik ben sneller klaar: met mijn 280SE kan ik naar Monster, met de 500SEL naar sint WIllebrord en met de 500SE ben ik wat langer onderweg (Zwitserland). Mijn E200 CDI kent alle binnenroutes van Rotterdam en waar de 400SE heeft uitgehangen moet nog uitzoeken, maar ook die is in Nederland geleverd.

Jaren geleden kocht ik een Ford Mustang uit 1967 en ik kon de eigenaar achterhalen, bleek een gepensioneerde tandarts uit Scottsdale, Arizona te zijn. Zijn moeder had de auto nieuw gekocht en toen hij ging studeren kreeg hij de auto mee. De sticker van zijn sociëteit zat ook nog op de achterruit. Ik heb hem toen nog wat foto's van de auto in Nederland gestuurd, erg leuk.

Van mijn (inmiddels gestolen ...) 560SEC werd gefluisterd dat hij van een bekende Haagse crimineel was geweest. De auto zelf was ooit geleverd als demo bij Van Dijk in Rotterdam. Stond ook keurig in het onderhoudsboekje vermeld als eerste eigenaar.
