Je kunt er rustig mee doorrijden, maar wel uitkijken.
Je moet voor zorgen dat je bougies, kabels en verdelerkap goed en droog zijn, het beste is om alles te vernieuwen.
Een geringe lekkage kan al problemen geven.

Tip: Toen ik die 280SE op gas nog had, sloeg de motor bij koud weer af wanneer je stopt voor de verkeerslicht of een kruising.
Ze hebben bij de garage een soort klepje voor de lucht inlaat geplaats. Dit om te voorkomen dat de moter niet te veel koude lucht binnen kreeg, de koude luchttoevoer moest een beetje geknepen worden.
Hierna geen probleem meer gehad.
