Nou Douwe, hartelijk dank voor je bericht, dat ik niet zal quoten, want dat mag ik niet meer doen en worden berichten verwijderd en dat terwijl ik nog zo gewaarschuwd ben en dat willen we natuurlijk niet op ons geweten hebben.

Onder het motto: "meten is weten", vandaag de timing van de ketting gemeten. Keurig de nokkenas op de markering gezet en gekeken wat de rek van de ketting is. Gemeten op de krukas. Hij staat, zoals de foto laat zien, nog net niet op 10 graden rek. We hebben ook gekeken of de ketting al een keer is vervangen. Dan moet er ergens een "klinkvisje" te zien zijn en die zit er niet.
Concluderend:

Mileage = 220.000 (is ongeveer 350.000 km)
Kettingrek = 10 graden
MB marge = tussen 11 en 15 graden is acceptabel. Boven 15 is vervangen.

Ik ben er iets meer gerust op dat het voorlopig nog wel even kan. Volgens de monteur was het duidelijk dat de motor altijd keurig onderhouden is. Geen enkele aanslag, alles nog vrij van slijtagesporen. Volgend jaar nog maar eens kijken naar de rek.

die visjes zijn pas van de laatste tijd, vroeger werden ze met een speciale pers geborgd en zag je niet waar de ketting gemonteerd werd.denk dat het visje pas van de laatste jaren is.

als je het laat zitten kan je toch de nokkenassen een tand of zo verzetten zodat de timing weer goed is.
dat zou ik in iedergeval wel doen, klopt de timing in ieder geval weer.

Dank je John, maar volgens mij levert een tand verzetten 18 graden op. Is dus teveel van het goede

je kan dan beter nog even doorrijden en dan volgend jaar of zo een keer laten vervangen.
ik zou hem persoonlijk ook niet tot 15 graden laten zitten.
ik heb er eens eentje vervangen met 13 graden rek en dat werd een hele andere motor.

vaak gaan ze met rek wat schudden. dat was bij deze ook het geval en na de wissel werd hij veel rustiger en ging minder schudden.

Hoi Iggy, de mijne schudt heel licht. Niet storend.

Denk dat het vervangen inderdaad wel over een jaar gaat gebeuren. Een winterklus. Mag dan toch niet rijden. Dank je iig.

Ja de injectoren en distributieketting hup gewoon vervangen in het wheeler dealer filmpje dat had ik gezien.

Het is wel interessant wat wordt gezegd over de distributieketting en de injectoren, nml dat deze gewoon vervangen moeten worden na ....kilometer wanneer er geen onderhoudsgeschiedenis is.

Ik heb inmiddels zoveel verschillende antwoorden gekregen van ervaren W126 en andere oude modellen Mercedes monteurs dat ze elkaar allemaal tegenspreken: de één zegt de ketting kan wel een miljoen km mee en is voor het leven, en is wel het laatste waar je je druk om moet maken, de ander zegt na 160.000 km kan je het maar beter gewoon vervangen en de ke jetronic injectoren hebben een levensduur van 120.000 km etc.

Zo lang de ketting rek binnen de 15 graden is.
Is het onnodig je ketting te vervangen.
De rek van de ketting geeft de slijtage graad aan.
Wat langer je ketting is geworden wat verder hij versleten is.
Het is niet alleen rek van de schalmen maar ook slijtage aan de scharnier punten van de ketting.

Al eerder gemeld zo ik heb gelezen:
Als een ketting rek heeft zijn de kettingwielen ook meegegaan in dat patroon en uitgesleten / vervormd.

Bij het vervangen van een uitgerekte ketting dienen de kettingwielen ook vervangen te worden.
Let maar eens op de passing van de versleten ketting in de kettingwielen, dat past ook keurig.

Als je bij industriële toepassingen in aandrijftechnische zaken alleen een ketting vervangt sta je meteen bekend als knoeier want binnen korte tijd is de nieuwe ketting weer net zo slecht als de oude.

Vraag het ook eens aan de fietsenmaker...

Hoi,

Ja de Tandwielen vervangen hoort er wellicht wel bij. Voor het op tijd zetten niet maar wel voor het inlopen van de ketting op de tandwielen.

Vaak zal het wel niet gebeuren want het krukastandwiel is nu eenmaal slecht bereikbaar.

Wete iemand trowuens of er alleen nog kunststof kettinggeleiders zijn voor de M117 motor of bestaan er ook nog van aluminium? Ik ben geen fan van plastic voor dit soort toepassingen.

Zit al meer dan 25 jaar nylon geleiders in en de spanner is van aluminium met een nylon laag
Geleiders zijn van kunstof metaal maakt te veel lawaai
