Hallo lui,

Ik wil een 280SE of 380SE (of SEL-uitvoering) op LPG aanschaffen, bouwjaar 1980/1983, wie kan mij wat meer vertellen over het verschil in gasverbruik tussen 280 en 380, en wat is sowieso betere (lees: verstandigere!) keus.
Ik rij ca. 15.000 km per jaar, rij i.v.m. het meeslepen van muziekapparatuur graag ruime wagen, echter baal van hoge belasting + duur "benzinegeslurp" en vindt de 280 en 380 series erg mooie (en voorzover ik weet zeer betrouwbare!) wagens.
Wie heeft er wat meer info voor mij?

hallo pep,

Volgens mij maakt het verbruik niet zoveel uit tussen een 280 of een 380
Bij een 280 op gas moet je alleen om de 7500 km je kleppen stellen.
Het onderhoud van een 280 is over het algemeen wel goedkoper en eenvoudiger.

Hallo Pep,

waarom op LPG? 15000km op benzine = 1875 liter x 1.35 = 2531 euro
15000km op LPG = 2500 liter x 1.00 = 2500 euro

Bovendien is de wegenbelasting bij benzine veel lager dan bij LPG
Ik zou dus n 380 V8 kiezen: genoeg kracht en rustiger loop...

ehhh.......Ronno, LPG kost tussen 0,60 en 0,65/liter........ en dat maakt wel degelijk verschil (ca. € 1000,00!!)!

Kunnen jullie nog aangeven waarom de 380 jullie voorkeur heeft? Zijn er bepaalde voordelen aan de 380 t.o.v. de 280??

K`hep effe je eerste berichtje gelezen.

Met gas inbouw hou je niet zo gek veel ruimte over in je kofferbak.
+/- 60% met 100 Liter tank.
(80 liter vulling )actieradius bij 1 op 6 = 480 km
Er is een alternatief : dat is de LPG tank op de plaats van je reserve wiel.
Zit wel een nadeel aan er gaat minder gas (60 liter ongeveer,dus 48 liter vulling actieradius bij 1 op 6 = 288 km )dus sta je vaker bij de pomp.

Als je ruimte wil en gas zou ik voor de 280 TE de stationwagen gaan (super mooi )dit is bouwtype 123.

ehhh.... maar van die TE kan ik er maar één vinden.....model 1979 met 260.000 km op de teller.... € 9.500,00 en dan moet 'ie nog omgebouwd worden naar LPG.... enne, zo'n kleine tank lijkt me niks, zeker niet in het buitenland (of hebben ze in Duitsland tegenwoordig wél LPG aan de Autobahn??)
Wat ruimte betreft denk ik dat ik voor de SEL ga, scheelt weer aardig wat op de achterbank, altijd handig voor gitaren etc.
Nog een vraagje, wat is nou het voordeel van de 380 t.o.v. de 280? Hoef je bij die 380 niet elke 7500 km de kleppen te stellen? Want als dat ook moet lijkt mij juist de 280 weer beter omdat die -gezien bijna 1 liter cilinder inhoud minder- wellicht toch wat gunstiger is in het verbruik....
Hoor graag van je.

een 380 op gas wordt afgeraden door de mensen die er verstand van hebben, neem dan een 500.
echter de 380 blokken en de 500 blokken zijn veel complexer dan de 280 blokken, dus ik zou op zeker voor een 280 gaan!

De 380 heeft meer PK en hoeft met 8 cylinders minder hard te werken en rijdt dus rustiger. Dat het blok ingewikkelder is, hoeft geen probleem te zijn als je er toch niet zelf aan gaat sleutelen. Mijn verbuik op gas is 1:6,7 en ik denk dat een 280 daar niet veel of niks onder zal zitten. Alleen als je kleppen, tuimelaars en bougies etc gaat vervangen ben je 8x een bedrag kwijt in plaats van 6x dat bedrag.
Ik zou zeggen: maak een een ritje met beiden en oordeel zelf wat je beter bevalt...
Op LPG loop je me met een 380 niet meer risico dan een 280, als de smering maar goed is. Let dus op de oliedruk en oliebuis boven de nokkenas. Kleppen hoef je niet te stellen bij een 380, die heeft hydraulische klepstoters.

voor mij was een V8 een must, dus het is een 380 geworden aangezien ik geen goede 500 kon vinden.

maar hou er inderdaad rekening mee dat een V8 iets ingewikkelder is en dat het een auto van meer dan 25 jaar oud betreft dus dat er gegarandeerd het een en ander kapot gaat/ vervangen dient te worden, denk aan vacuumslangen, bougiekabels, stationair toerentalregelingen, grote beurt etc.
Ik reken altijd op nog zo'n 30% van de aanschafprijs om een oldtimer weer tip-top te krijgen, en met mijn nieuwe 380 gaat dat ook weer aardig kloppen.
