Appendix: General Site Rules, Tempelhof Airport
As per August 1st, 2011
1. The rules are based on the landlord’s site rules and the legal regulations in force.
The organizational rules are binding for exhibitors, even if worded differently in
other written texts. The rules are there to make sure the event runs smoothly and
safely.
2. Non-observation of the rules can lead to exclusion from the event.
3. The ultimate decision about who is or is not observing the rules rests with the
people authorized by the organizer. Such people have unrestricted authorization
to give instructions. The organizer is entitled to refuse entry to the site or ban
individuals from the site.
4. The StVO [road traffic regulations] apply on the grounds of the former Tempel
hof Airport and the access roads. The provisions laid out in the BetrVO Berlin
[operating guidelines for Berlin] (places of public assembly), the VDE [German
association of electrical engineers] and any other regulations or laws that are
relevant in certain situations also apply, even if not mentioned specifically.
5. The allotted exhibit spaces are to be observed. You cannot select a space
yourself. Take the shortest route to the space. The given routes are to be adhered
to at all times.
6. Driving on the site of the event is only permitted outside the hours the grounds
are open to the public or on areas that are closed off and not accessible to the
public. Any violations will be reported to the police and the person prosecuted.
7. Any materials brought on to the site must comply at least with fuel category DIN
4102 B1 and be in a harmless state for visitors to the event. The vehicles must
not be leaking any fluids. Non-combustible fluids that are leaking out to a
minimal extent can be collected appropriately. Ground contamination is to be
prevented at all times.
8. Compressed-gas-driven vehicles are not permitted on the site of the event due to
fire prevention requirements.
9. The following rules are to be observed at all times:
a. Glass bottles are not allowed on the site. Propane gas must not be used.
b. The use of camping stoves and grills of any nature on the exhibition grounds is
forbidden.
c. The assembly of roofs or tents is not permitted for reasons of insurance.
Exceptions are to be evidenced for stability up to Beaufort Wind Force
Scale 8. All documentation and structural specifications are to be brought
along. Ground anchors are not permitted.

d. It is forbidden to drill into the floors and walls of the buildings or to stick any
thing on to them, paint them or write anything on them.
e. Electricity on the apron will only be supplied if ordered in advance from the
organizer, for a fee, if applicable. Electric connections cannot be provided
everywhere.
f. The preparation of food is not allowed on the site of the event.
g. Storage of fuels is only allowed with the organizer’s permission.
h. Film, TV and audio recordings are forbidden (except by media representatives
authorized by the organizer).
i
. No skateboards, inline skates, bicycles or similar means of transport are to be
used anywhere on the grounds for the duration of the event.
j. Please avoid making any unnecessary noise.

Site Rules
for the property Platz der Luftbrücke 4-6
(grounds and buildings of the former Tempelhof Airport)
Preamble
The renters and users of the property Platz der Luftbrücke 4-6 (grounds and buildings of the
former Tempelhof Airport, hereafter referred to as the „property“) should not only enter the
property willingly, but also find the site in perfect order and clean. The site rules have been
drawn up for this reason. The site rules contain regulations for the use of the property and
govern the relationships of the renters and other users of the property with one another, to
whom belong, in particular, the various employees of the authorities and companies based on
the property. The consideration demanded of the various users of the property for one another obligates such users, above all, to the following:
1. Use of the property
1.1 General
Rented rooms and rented areas and certain areas or rooms designated for common
use, as well as installations and facilities are to be treated with care.
1.2 Cooking
Cooking or heating up food, drinks or water is only permitted in the rooms or on the
areas intended for such and designated for common use.
1.3 Vending machines
Vending machines in or on the commonly used rooms or areas are operated by the owner
of the property or by the landlord.
1.4 Partition walls
No holes are to be drilled into or nails hammered into partition walls made of metal or
plastic, nor are any similar holes to be made in such.
1.5 Storage
Renters are on no account entitled to store or erect any objects outside the rented rooms
and other rented areas. The storage and erection of any kind of object (e.g. goods,
fuels, packaging, vehicles etc.) outside the rented rooms and areas – particularly on common
areas – is not allowed. Any official bans in this respect are to be observed. Exceptions
are only permitted for vital reasons, e.g. for the business operations of a renter, and must
be agreed upon with the owner of the property/the landlord at all times.
1.6 Lifts
The lifts are to be used with care. Any breakdowns are to be reported to the owner of the
property/the landlord immediately.
1.7 Wastewater discharge
The legal regulations and official rules and conditions in force are to be observed when
discharging wastewater into the sewer network.
1.8 Cleaning, cleanliness and order
Renters and other users of the property are to see that the common areas and rooms are
not soiled unnecessarily. If access roads, footpaths, commonly used rooms or similar are
soiled excessively by renters or users, their employees or service providers, agents,
customers, suppliers or visitors, the respective renter or user is to see to the necessary
cleaning of such at its own expense.
Unnecessary sounds, vibrations or disturbances caused by noise or unpleasant smells
are to be avoided.
1.9 Refuse disposal
The rented property and/or other rooms and areas used are to be kept free of any vermin.
Refuse and waste are to be disposed of immediately and must not be collected or stored
in the various rented/used areas.
Domestic waste or any such similar waste and potential recyclables must only be put
into the containers provided. The available possibilities for separating waste are to be
used. In particular, potential recyclables that have already been separated must not be
remixed with other waste, thus rendering them useless for recycling. The storage of
private waste of any kind on the grounds or the disposal of private waste in waste bins,
dustbins or waste containers on the grounds is forbidden. The illegal disposal of waste
will be reported to the police and such waste disposed of at the expense of the party that
illegally disposed of the waste. The costs incurred by incorrect waste disposal – e.g. the
costs of sorting – will also be charged to the party causing such. Objects that might cause
an obstruction are not to be emptied into washbasins, sinks or toilets.
2. Building security
2.1 Opening hours
If a renter or other user enters or leaves the property outside the regular opening hours,
they are to make sure that the doors are locked correctly and the lights are turned off.
If the renter or other user is unable to lock the doors correctly or turn off the lights,
they are to notify the Security Control Centre (phone: 6951 3627) and the Facility
Management Service (FMS) engaged by the owner of the property/the landlord.
2.2 Parking
Customer parking spaces on the property are to be kept free for customers of the
property owner/landlord, the renters and other users. Employees on the property may
only park on the areas designated for such.
The traffic regulations are to be observed on the parking areas. The legal road traffic
regulations apply to all access roads.
2.3 Keeping areas clear
Emergency and escape routes, fire brigade access routes, other access roads, areas for
parking and moving emergency vehicles belonging to the police, fire brigade and rescue
services as well as building entrances and common facilities are to be kept clear at all
times. No objects, in particular motorcycles, mopeds, bicycles or baby carriages, are to
be parked on the footpath in front of the property, on the yard, on the garage driveway,
in the corridors, in the basement, in the stairways or on any other general traffic areas or
common areas without the consent of the owner of the property/the landlord.
Any form of hawking or camping on the entire site is forbidden.
2.4 Escape routes and stairs
Escape routes and stairs are only to be used in an emergency and are to be kept clear at
all times.
2.5 Official regulations
Any technical and official regulations, particularly those of the building authorities, building
supervisory board, the police and the fire brigade are to be observed.
2.6 Malfunction
Any malfunctioning of the gas, irrigation or drainage systems, electrical systems
and building installations, or blockage of the gas or drainage systems etc. is to be
reported immediately to the Technical Control Centre (phone: 6951 2600) and the Facility
Management Service (FMS) or the Technical Control Centre and the owner of the property/
the landlord.
3. Heating, windows, lighting etc.
3.1 Heating
Doors and windows are to be kept tightly closed during the heating period. Airing rooms
is to be restricted to what is necessary.
Renters and other users are not allowed to interfere with the radiators in general traffic
areas during the heating period.
Radiators must not be turned off if there is the danger of frost. Any other water pipes
and drainage pipes in the rented property and other rooms and areas being used are to
be protected appropriately against freezing.
3.2 Water and light
Any unnecessary use of water and light in the commonly used parts of the buildings is to
be avoided.
Floors are to be kept dry. This applies particularly to areas near water tap connections
and water containers. The renter or user is to take precautions to prevent water pipes
from freezing when the weather turns cold. In particular, the renter/user is to close any
relevant windows, protect supply pipes from the cold and maintain the required minimum
temperature.
4. Supply and delivery
The delivery routes for the delivery of goods will be determined by the landlord in
agreement with the renters and other users, depending on the location of the premises.
The renters and other users are obligated to inform their suppliers and drivers of such.
Goods are only to be delivered and transported to the storage rooms or directly to the
premises of the renters and other users via the designated delivery routes.
The time taken to deliver goods should be kept as short as possible and any disturbance
or hindrance caused to other renters and other users should be restricted to the extent
that is absolutely essential. The renters and other users are obligated to have a sufficient
number of employees on hand to ensure that goods can be delivered in as short a time
as possible and with as little disturbance as possible.
Traffic obstructions are to be avoided on all accounts when delivery vehicles are parked.
Access routes for rescue vehicles and emergency vehicles belonging to the police, fire
brigade and rescue services are to be kept free of vehicles and goods. Goods must not be
deposited or stored, even for a short time, on common areas or general traffic areas.
5. Amendments and additions
The owner of the property/the landlord is entitled to amend or revise the site rules for
the property if it deems such advisable for technical, organizational or other operational
reasons. This should not constitute new, more extensive obligations for the renters or
others users.
