Nogal vage vraag (is een T-ford beter dan een Focus?)

Er is voor beide wat te zeggen.
Wat zijn de criteria waarop je wil vergelijken?
Altijd leuk... Een type 1 500 met een 300pk 560 ECE motor.

Kolom 1: type 1 380SEL
Kolom 2: type 1 500SEL
Kolom 3: type 2 420SEL
Kolom 4: type 2 560SEL

De 380 is iets zuiniger dan een 420 en een 500 is iets zuiniger dan een 560.
Maar echt veel maakt het niet.
Dit zijn fabrieksopgaves denk ik dus de praktijk zal iets anders liggen.

Ik moet bekennen dat ik dat gebruik van 1 op 8,4 niet haal op LPG :geek:

Even kijken..

Er was eens een autofabriek. Die maakte sinds jaar en dag W126 modellen.
Er werkten daar best wel slimme mensen. De auto's die ze maakten waren namelijk best wel goed en liepen voorop in techniek.

Na een jaar of 5 hetzelfde model gemaakt te hebben kregen ze een 'aha erlebnis'. Als het een engelse fabriek was geweest hadden ze het een brainwave genoemd. Bij DAF zouden ze het een goed idee hebben genoemd.

Wat het was ? Een type 2 dat die over de hele linie nog eens aangepast is en waarin alle zwakke punten van een toch al niet slechte auto nog eens aangepakt werden.

Resultaat ? Een slechtere auto ? Ik dacht het niet...

Weinig aan te vullen op het commentaar van Hans, dat is ook mijn ervaring.

Chroom van type 2 is slechter van kwaliteit, roestpreventie bij type 2 is slechter van kwaliteit, motoren van type 2 zijn wat zuiniger, schuif-kanteldak gaat vaker kapot (overdosis plastic onderdelen).

Zowel bij type 1 als type 2 tref je goede auto's en gebakjes aan. Over de gehele linie genomen is geen enkele W126 slecht, maar je hebt kunstenaars die alles kapot krijgen.

De verbruikscijfers van autoweek.nl zijn lichtjes overdreven. In de praktijk is het verbruik van een 380 nagenoeg gelijk aan dat van een 500. En op korte afstandjes zuipen ze allemaal. De 500-motoren zijn wat degelijker dan de 380/420. De 280 rijdt wat meer op toeren en heeft weinig trekkracht onderin, daar zijn de V8's weer superieur.

Mijn advies: neem een 500. Over het algemeen een vollere auto en een betere motor. Wil je voor de centen rijden, neem dan een 300SD of een 300SDL.

Ontstekingsmodules van de type 2 zijn nogal duur, dat klopt. Onderdelen van het injectiesysteem zijn nieuw ook aan de prijs. Slijtagedelen zijn over het algemeen niet duur.
